Bee Cave Texas is located 12 miles west of Austin on highway 71 around Ranch Road 620 and Bee Cave Road. Early settlers named Bee Cave after a large cave of wild bees was found. In 1870 the first post office opened under that name. Bee Cave and Lakeway have grown so close together that it is hard to tell where one town ends and another one starts. Homes in Bee Cave run from rustic country living to luxury homes with breathtaking views. Shopping at Hill Country Galleria, restaurants and nearby golf can be found at Falconhead, Flintrock Falls and Spanish Oaks. Short driving distance to Lake Travis.
